Lusty Glaze is a privately-owned beach, yet it remains proudly open to the public year-round, with free access at all tide levels.

As a unique venue perched at the edge of the Atlantic, we also host a number of exclusive weddings and private events throughout the year, on those special occasions, certain areas or the full beach may be temporarily closed to ensure an unforgettable experience for our guests.

We’re committed to making our cove as accessible and enjoyable as possible for everyone, and our dedicated team is always here to help with any questions. Faqs

How many steps are there down to the beach?

There are 133 steps down to the beach with rest stops every 10 or so steps. A handrail runs the full length of the steps on one side but is slightly uneven in places. Take your time, stop for a selfie and enjoy the view as you come down!

Are the 133 Steps the only way to access the beach?

Yes, the steps are the only way on or off the beach. On a Spring low tide, it is possible to walk along the bay to the harbour. Always check tide times before setting off. A boat arrival might sound romantic, but the North coast swell may have something to say about it.

Are you dog friendly?

Very! We love doggos here at the beach and they are welcome across the site all year. All we ask is that you keep them on a lead from the top of the steps down to the wet sand, and that you take any poo away with you.

What are your opening hours?

We’re open every day from 9:30am. Please check our calendar for dates that we may be closed to the public for private events.

What food do you serve?

We serve a seasonal menu of tasty beach food. Think fresh stone baked pizzas and salads in the summer and sharing boards, or stacked nachos and lite bites in the Winter. You can find a sample menu on our website. You can also book in to eat in the restaurant with the Pickled Chef.
