Our popular family-friendly Bank Holiday Rugby Festival returns for 2027!

Kick off with a one-day event on Friday, then enjoy a two-day competition across Saturday and Sunday. Friday features group and knockout stages, while Saturday’s results decide Sunday’s competition tiers.

Matches run throughout each day, building to thrilling floodlit finals on Sunday evening, followed by live music, fireworks, and trophy presentations. Teams may be mixed age and gender, with squads of up to 20, and 5 players allowed on the pitch at a time.

Please note: 2027 team spaces are now full. Registration for 2028 opens in September 2027.

Spectators can enjoy the action for free, with great food and drink available on the beach as always.

Do we need tickets for the Beach Tag Rugby?

Spectators can enjoy the action for free, with great food and drink available on the beach as always. If you would like to compete, team spaces are now full for this year. Registration for 2027 opens in September 2026.

Are the 133 Steps the only way to access the beach?

Yes, the steps are the only way on or off the beach. On a Spring low tide, it is possible to walk along the bay to the harbour. Always check tide times before setting off. A boat arrival might sound romantic, but the North coast swell may have something to say about it.

What food do you serve?

We serve a seasonal menu of tasty beach food. Think fresh stone baked pizzas and salads in the summer and sharing boards, or stacked nachos and lite bites in the Winter. You can find a sample menu on our website. You can also book in to eat in the restaurant with the Pickled Chef.

Is there parking nearby?

There is a public pay and display car park next to the beach on Lusty Glaze Road. This is not owned or operated by Lusty Glaze Beach and parking charges apply all year. Other car parks are located nearby. To help minimise impact on the environment, please walk to the beach or use public transport where possible.
