Lusty Glaze Beach | COVID-19 Updates August 2021

Here’s all the latest information for life at Lusty Glaze following the latest guidance – Updated 17th August 2021

Restaurant

The main restaurant for normal dining remains closed and we are not currently taking table bookings at this time. The hospitality industry in the South West, and particularly Newquay, is suffering from an unprecedented shortage of staff. This, coupled with the uncertainty of infection rates, is why we have taken the decision to protect our team and business by reducing our offering.

We are delighted that all going well, we will be opening the doors to the Restaurant in early October for bookings.  Please keep an eye on our social media and website around mid/late September for details.

If you are visiting the beach on a sunny day when the beach is open to the public, we aim to have a small takeaway service available. This will be dependent on both weather and staffing availability.

Weddings

We’re so pleased and over the moon for all our couples that all weddings can now go ahead as normal.

As you can imagine, the weddings team are now extremely busy. We are a very small team and, as such, we will prioritise enquiries in the order of your planned wedding. This will mean our brides and grooms getting married in the next few days will be our priority.  Please don’t be concerned; we will get to you as quickly as you can.

Events

Unfortunately, our Ibiza Club Classics Sundowner Session and ‘Rum and Good Times!’ show have now be postponed. If you’re a ticket holder, please check your emails for updates. All current tickets will be valid for the new dates. New tickets are available via the ‘tickets’ tab above.

The best way to get in touch with us about events is to email to events@lustyglaze.co.uk – please do not contact us through social media as our pages are not being checked regularly at this time.

We are delighted that our beloved annual beach tag rugby tournament can now go ahead as normal and unrestricted over the August bank holiday weekend.

Accommodation

Stays in our beautiful beach accommodation will continue as normal! Check availability here.

Beach Access

The gates are currently open daily from 10am unless there’s a private event booked at the beach.

On a normal beach day, our beachside bar will be open for takeaway hot/cold drinks, beers, wines, bubbles and cocktails. There will only be a small range of takeaway snacks available. Our only request is that you please help us by taking your litter home with you! Our trusty maintenance guys, Morgan, Joe and Alex, have to carry everything that’s brought down and left here back up the stairs – it’s hard work and we’d like them not to quit!

Please note that there are no facilities or toilets currently available at the beach. This is because we only have a very tiny septic tank, and the only way is up…(or out to sea and that is totally unacceptable!) The planned pumping station that was due to be installed has been delayed due to the pandemic. As such, we can only offer our very limited services to restaurant guests or we will be very quickly overwhelmed! Thank you for your understanding.

Waverunners

Waverunners are operating from our cove as normal – see their website for any updates.

Contact

Our phone lines are still temporarily closed.

Please use the following emails to get in touch with the relevant departments and we’ll get back you shortly:

Weddings: weddings@lustyglaze.co.uk

General enquiries: info@lustyglaze.co.uk

Remember, we are a small team working extremely hard to turn our little cove back into the Lusty Glaze we all know and love. Be kind always, and please do not think that our very dedicated team is being unreasonable if we cannot meet your expectations. Please consider that there might be other factors at play that impact what we can actually offer – we will however do our absolute best for you under the circumstances.

In 2020 we were in the unenviable position of having to close the beach to the general public.  We will do our utmost to keep the gates open this year, however if we are overwhelmed or feel that our guests and staff are unsafe, we will not hesitate to close again until the coast is literally clear.

We very much hope to see you on the sand soon.
