A music-filled celebration where every moment rolled effortlessly into the next
When the energy never dipped
Some weddings feel calm and slow, like the sea on a still day. Dani & Brian’s felt more like the tide in motion.
From the first sound of steel drums drifting across the sand to a dancefloor that stayed full long into the night, their wedding at Lusty Glaze felt less like a traditional celebration and more like stepping into a moment everyone was part of together. Music, sea air, laughter and light all came together to create an incredible atmosphere.
Nothing felt forced or overly structured, and very part of the day arrived naturally, exactly when it needed to.
“From the very beginning, Dani & Brian wanted a day that never felt stop-start, and that’s exactly what we created together,” says Naomi, Lusty Glaze Wedding Co-ordinator. “It felt like a huge, continuous, celebration right from the moment guests arrived all the way through to the final song.”

Meet Dani & Brian
From the start, Dani & Brian knew they didn’t want their wedding to be structured around rigid, formal timelines. They wanted something flowing and immersive, and a whole day felt completely connected. Live music was the thread running through the whole day and tying it all together seamlessly, it started softly and gradually, then built into this amazing, electric energy that carried through the whole evening.
Their story was beautifully captured by Alan Law and Noah Werth, whose work captured the beauty of the space and conveyed a strong sense of the character of the couple, and the ephemeral feeling of such a special day.
“What made this wedding so special was how naturally the couple trusted the flow of the day,” explains Naomi. “Our role was simply to support that vision and let it unfold.”

The mood, the moment, the magic
The atmosphere throughout the day was immersive. Being surrounded by such amazing energy, you couldn’t help but feel joyful, it was the kind of wedding where guests aren’t just an audience but a living part of the day.
As evening settled in, all of that joyful energy and excitement built to something that felt really special. When Dani & Brian stepped onto the dancefloor for their choreographed first dance, for a second, the whole room seemed to catch its breath before the music, applause and energy lifted all at once.
“That first dance completely changed the energy in the room,” adds Naomi. “You could feel everyone rooting for them so hard. It was emotional, effortless and completely wonderful.”

A day that moved like music
Guests arrived to the warm sound of steel drums played by Mica Alice, carrying across the beach as cocktails flowed and shoes disappeared into the sand.
“The arrival sets the tone for the whole day at Lusty Glaze, and this was one of those moments where you could see guests instantly relax into it all,” says Naomi.
As the weather shifted, the ceremony moved from the beach to the Top Deck in a quick, quiet switch that left everyone believing it was the plan all along. But instead of losing something, the change created a more intimate atmosphere – quieter, softer and beautifully framed by the sea and sky.
Afterwards, guests wandered back down to the beach where music returned, laughter and chatter carried across the sand, and the quintessential Cornish pasties were passed around in the afternoon light.
Dinner followed with relaxed BBQ-style dining, alongside cake design by Polly Webb. Long tables were filled with shared plates and generously filled glasses clinked together.
“The brief was relaxed, joyful and full of personality, which made it really fun to design for. The informal dining style meant the cake felt like part of the celebration rather than a big formal reveal. The flavours also reflected the couple’s personalities and heritage, with a rich Guinness and butterscotch flavour as a nod to the Irish side of the family, alongside a fresh summery lemon and raspberry flavour.”
As the evening unfolded, espresso martinis appeared, the music deepened, lights softened and anticipation built ahead of an evening set from Fistral Stereo, joined by live sax and percussion from SOMA Agency.
“The shift into the evening felt completely natural,” says Naomi. “There were no full stops or jump-cuts, just a really smooth flow through the celebrations.”

Effortless, even behind the scenes
What guests experienced as effortless had been carefully managed throughout the day. Weather changes, timing adjustments and moving between spaces were all handled in a quiet, efficient flurry behind the scenes in a way that meant the atmosphere never lost momentum.
Styling by Out of the Ordinary Event Hire helped each area evolve naturally throughout the day, making every transition feel intentional rather than practical.
“There were a lot of moving parts, but everything was timed so carefully that guests only experienced the flow of the day, never the logistics,” says Naomi.

The moments everyone remembered
There wasn’t one standout moment so much as a collection of them:
The steel drums welcoming guests onto the beach.
The unexpectedly intimate ceremony looking out to the sea.
The cheers as the newlyweds entered the marquee.
A dancefloor that never seemed to empty.
And a spontaneous full-room singalong nobody planned but nobody will forget.
That final moment came to life with live vocals from Cole Page before the evening turned into a joyful karaoke takeover with KaroaQuay.
“That singalong captured everything we love about weddings here, pure joy and everyone completely in it together,” says Naomi.

“Live sax and percussion work best when you can react to the energy in the room, and this crowd gave us so much to work with. The atmosphere already had momentum and we were just there to elevate it.”
The team behind the atmosphere
A wedding like this comes together through collaboration, instinct and a shared understanding of how the day should feel.
Alongside Alan Law Photography and Noah Werth Videography, the celebration was shaped by a team who understood both the structure behind the scenes and the spontaneity guests experienced.
Florals by Blossom & Kelp brought soft coastal textures into the space, while Out of the Ordinary Event Hire helped every area transition naturally throughout the day.
“The coastal setting already gives you so much to work with, so we wanted the flowers to feel soft, natural and completely at home in the space.”

Music remained at the centre of everything, from Mica Alice’s steel drums to Cole Page’s live vocals and Fistral Stereo’s evening set, with SOMA Agency lifting the energy even further into the night.
“This was a perfect example of what happens when a supplier team fully understands a couple’s vision and works together to bring it to life,” says Naomi.
“You could tell early on this crowd wanted to dance — it was just about building the right moments around that energy. At Lusty Glaze, the atmosphere never drops completely, it just keeps building.” —Fistral Stereo

Every mood, every moment
What Dani & Brian’s wedding captured so beautifully was how one day can hold so many different moods – calm and expansive, intimate and electric, quiet and full of celebration.
At Lusty Glaze, those shifts happen naturally, allowing every wedding story to unfold in its own way.
“It felt like the whole day rolled forward naturally,” says Naomi. “Every moment built perfectly on the one before it.”
