Water Quality gets ‘Thumbs up’ at Lusty Glaze

Clear day at Lusty GlazeThe water quality at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay has been certified as excellent following independent tests by Cornwall Council over the summer.

The Cornish beach was deemed to have ‘Excellent Water Quality’ every time it was tested over the five month period, meaning it meets or exceeds European Union standards for bathing water quality.

This is excellent news for the many thousands of people who visit the beach each summer to swim, surf or experience activities at The Adventure Centre.

Lusty Glaze Beach prides itself on exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and has a full-time maintenance team on site to pick up litter after guests and remove anything that gets washed up by the sea.

Tracey Griffiths, Head of Centre, commented: “As an outdoor adventure centre, we thrive on the natural elements and pristine environment surrounding us. We do our best to make sure this is not jeopardised in any way. This is reflected in the quality of the bathing water.

“Our guests can be sure that they’re not exposing themselves to any nasties when they come down to the beach for a swim, a surfing lesson or to join any other activities in and around the beach.”

The tests were conducted by Cornwall Council over a period of 20 weeks between May and September. Other Newquay beaches also achieved an excellent score during this year’s round of tests.
