HSE Proposed Changes to First Aid Training in 2009
The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) proposed changes to the provision of first aid training will come into force on 1st October 2009. The HSE is introducing a number of measures to improve First Aid at Work courses in this country. But what will this mean to you?:
* The 4 day course will become a 3 day course.
* The one day Appointed person will now become the Emergency First Aid at Work course, and also fall under the HSE's governance.
* Both awards will be valid for 3 years, with a recommendation that annual refresher basic life support training takes place.
* Current Faaw and Appointed person awards taken before the 1st October 2009 will remain valid up until they reach there expiration date.
There are lots of changes ahead from the HSE and further updates will be posted here on the site as we approach October 2009. For more information follow this link to the HSE website - first aid training direct
